Ffestiniog Railway ‘Van 51’

Produced in collaboration with Will Curry, this latest laser cut, 16mm scale kit represents Ffestiniog Railway ‘Van 51’ as currently in use with the Permanent Way Department.

The kit incorporates well proven hidden slot and tab construction techniques throughout for easy and accurate assembly and will be available in MDF or Plywood. It includes the 3D printed balcony rail and roof vent, as well as individually glazed windows panes with droplight frames and or window beading in full relief, as well as non-working representation of the brake gear. A fully fitted interior is also provided, including representation of the internal beading, bench seating, handbrake, and most importantly the gas-stove for use during obligatory tea-brakes.

A natural accompaniment to the well-established Resurgam Rolling range of FR permanent way vehicles, it is supplied with Binnie Engineering wheels and axles as well as oil-filled bronze bearing as standard.

In order to maintain a definitive scale outline, it is currently only available for 32mm gauge. Couplings, vacuum pipes and decals are not supplied, but the markings illustrated here, including the dial face for the vacuum gauge are available separately from ‘Endon Valley Custom Transfers’.
