MOD Eastriggs Wagon

A large number of these 2ft Gauge Bulkhead Flat Wagons were built by Hudson and other companies from 1939 onwards for use at the Eastriggs Munitions Depot on the Solway Firth. Similarly to the RNAD depots, Eastriggs was connected to the National Rail Network, and the munitions were transferred to and from the 2ft gauge system for internal transport around the site. The depot eventually closed in 2010 but a significant number of these vehicles have been preserved, with examples to be found at the Amerton Railway, Amberley Museum, Leighton Buzzard, The Old Kiln Light Railway, Threlkeld Quarry & Mining Museum and Welsh Highland Heritage Railway to name but a few.

Whilst ideal for the prototypical modeller, this comparatively small vehicle would make a particularly good accompaniment to the myriad of small diesel outline and battery electric locomotives currently available from the wider 16mm scale trade.

Please note that due to that comparatively small size, this kit is only available for 32mm gauge.
